CloudPlayer offers Chromecast support, offline playback, and audio presets

The future of cloud is bright. Physical hard drives are no longer needed as long as you have quick access to any cloud storage. There are free services available but some may require you minimal fee. No matter how you access the cloud, you can't deny the fact that it's very convenient. You can just download any cloud app from the Google Play Store but only a few can work as an easy and reliable music player for all your audio files.

You see, music streaming is also one important use of cloud. There really is no need to store files in any USB or even your device's internal memory because you can save anything up in the cloud. Another cloud music player that you can try is CloudPlayer. It boasts a nice Material Design user interface that shows album and artist images in high resolution.

You are free to link this music player to your other cloud accounts like Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox. You can also choose to download your playlist and stream songs for offline playback so you can always have music even when you don't have internet connection. What's good about the CloudPlayer app is that it offers a 10-band EQ, hi-fidelity lossless sound, and support for both Chromecast and AirPlay so you can cast music to wireless speakers and devices.

With the CloudPlayer app, you can also take advantage of the advanced sorting options for artists, albums, genres, and composers among others. App is free but some premium in-app items are available including an advanced 10 band equalizer, 17 presets and Preamp, SuperSound for headphone enhancement, lossless file format support for FLAC and ALAC and standard audio formats (wav, AAC, MP3, OGG, M4A, etc.), and lastly, importing and streaming WMA support.

Specs of Galaxy S6 edge Plus revealed in leaked diagrams

It’s already tradition that the closer the launch date it is, the more leaks, rumors, and insider information will come out (and sometimes you have to wonder if it isn’t the OEM itself that starts these leaks). We’re a few weeks away from the expected announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus, and the latest news is that some release diagrams have been seen, giving (and confirming) more specs about the upcoming phablet.

Tech site SlashGear was able to receive case-maker images and they show the height, width, and other details like the curves and edges, as compared to the Galaxy S6 edge, as well as the other new expected device, the Galaxy Note 5. Obviously, it is bigger than the former and is almost as big as the latter. That is why some refer to it more as a phablet than as a smartphone. The dimensions are rumored to be 154.4 x 75.9 x 6.9mm and the display will reportedly be a 5.7-inch 1600x2560 pixel Super AMOLED screen.

With regards to the curvature, it is an edge device after all, it will supposedly have two curved edges instead of just one. This is more Galaxy S6 edge rather than the Galaxy Note Edge, so it has more shallow dips rather than a deep curve room for functions and icons and there is also no S-Pen.

The Galaxy S6 edge Plus is expected to be announced by August 12 and will reportedly be available in the US through carriers by August 21. The Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung’s first round smartwatch, the Gear A will also be announced during the same event.

Remake of the Man from U.N.C.L.E now also a game on Android

These days, whenever a big budget fantasy, sci-fi, or action movie gets released on the big screen, we more or less expect a game to come out of it sooner or later. Now whether the game is a good companion for the movie or if it’s just another way for producers to cash in on anything connected to the franchise, that remains to be scene. Not getting left out of the gaming trend is the latest remake to hit your movie screen, The Man from U.N.C.L.E starring Superman himself and the Winklevoss twins.

Mission: Berlin is a new Android game that is the movie tie-in to the remake of a 60s TV classic. Surprisingly, the movie is still set in the 60s during the Cold War of that period and stars Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer as two agents from the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, a fictional secret international intelligence agency. They’re on a top secret mission of course to stop some evil organization hell bent on taking over or destroying the world in the process.

In the game, you get to choose which agent you want to play, and you can even choose which side you’re playing on, whether the CIA or the KGB. Your goal is to simply fulfill the mission that you’re given in this action-based adventure game. Every time you complete a Top Secret mission, you get points of course which you can then use to upgrade your spy’ powers. You can also record your gameplay if you think you’re that good, then share it to the world.

You can download Mission: Berlin from the Google Play Store for free. You need not watch the movie to be able to play this game, but you may need to still do, if only to have more appreciation for the story.

ZTE debuts high end Axon smartphone in the US

ZTE is one of these aggressive China-based device manufacturers, and is fairly known in the Asian market, although not nearly as much as OnePlus, Xiaomi, or OPPO. But the brand is still fighting for its place in the US market, so this is an interesting move – the outfit bringing a high-end phone in the ZTE Axon to North American shores.

The ZTE Axon has some considerable specs under it. Unlike other Chinese manufacturers, it has chosen to go with an octa-core 2.0Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset rather than the more economical MediaTek chips. That processor is backed up by a whopping 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. Front and center is a 5.5-inch QuadHD (2560x1440) display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It also features a dual lens main camera – 13MP and 2MP – for those 3D effects, and an 8MP selfie shooter.

With the Qualcomm chipset also comes its Quick Charging technology for the non-removable 3,000mAh battery. ZTE ditched the microSD for the sleek unibody design. Out of the box, you’ll be getting Android 5.1 Lollipop, although it will be skinned by ZTE’s UI. The ZTE will also feature what ZTE dubs as "Hi-Fi AudioPlayback and Recording." We will need to see in real world tests what that exactly is.

With specs like that and a price point of USD$449.98 off contract, the ZTE Axon seriously undercuts the current crop of flagship phones which are priced well above USD$500. The device will be available in 3 variants, namely in Ion Gold, Chromium Silver, and Phthalo Blue, and will be up for pre-order sometime very soon at ZTE USA's website, Amazon, Newegg, and ZTE's store on eBay.
